Alcorta & Berasategi Gastronomic Contest - 05/29/2006

 
The ILARRA restaurant has won the main award to the best pintxo from San Sebastian in the half-final of the Alcorta& Berasategi Gastronomic Contest, hold on past May 31st at the Cofradía Vasca de Gastronomía. The winner pintxo was a "Grilled iberian pork ear stuffed with foie with Grand Smith".

The ILARRA Restaurant will represent Donostia at the final phase of the contest at Juan Alcorta Vineyards in Logroño next June 21st.

105 bars from Donostia-San Sebastian have taken part in this gastronomic contest organized by Juan Alcorta Wineyards and Martin Berasategi. The 8 finalist cooked their pintxo in front of a jury proposed by Martin Berasategi to choose the recipe that will represent Donostia in the final of the contest next June 21st in Juan Alcorta Wineyards in Logroño.
Martin Berasategui (Restaurant Martin Berasategui), Pedro Subijana (Restaurant Akelarre), Hilario Arbelaitz (Restaurant Zuberoa), Andoni Luis Aduriz (Restaurant Mugaritz), Raúl Cabrera (Restaurant Kursaal), Ramón Roteta (Restaurant Roteta), José Juan Castillo (Restaurant Casa Nicolasa) y Juanjo Mendioroz (speaker and director of “El gran festín” of Herri Irratia radio.)
